Schlage Recognition Systems Partners with Access Hardware Supply
CAMPBELL, CALIF. - April 30, 2002 - Schlage Recognition Systems, the biometric Access Control component of Ingersoll Rand’s Security Technologies Electronic Control Systems, today announced that national wholesaler distributor Access Hardware Supply (San Leandro, Calif.) will be handling its biometric HandKey® II hand geometry readers. Access Hardware Supply calls on electrical and mechanical hardware dealers throughout North America.
"Our dealers are being asked for a biometric solution by their end-users," emphasizes Access Hardware Supply Vice President of Sales & Operations John Ream. "Schlage Recognition Systems, HandReaders increase both the security and convenience of an access control system. As the most popular biometric technology used for access control, we wanted to assure our dealers that they would have a product with which both they and their customers could profit."
"Access Hardware Supply has assumed a leadership role in the locking systems market and has the technology vision to bring the benefits of biometric HandReaders to their dealers," affirms Bill Spence, Schlage Recognition Systems, director of marketing. "With the lines of locking systems they handle, they are uniquely positioned to help their dealers expand their business horizons with biometrics."
Among the lines already distributed by Access Hardware Supply are Schlage CM locks, Von Duprin CM993 exit trim and Locknetics universal controllers. The same LockLink™ and LockLink Express access control management software used to program these products also programs Recognition Systems' new HandKey CM hand geometry readers. With a laptop or PDA, the administrator can go to a door, plug in the interface to the HandKey CM, add or delete users, determine which users can have access to specific doors at specific times throughout the day, and download audit trails of who has been through the door and when.
